The driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel, or any other location of your preference in Ohrid. We will drive to the border at St. Naum, entering Albania. On the way, we can stop a few times to take photos of the coastal line of the Ohrid Lake. The first town that we will see on the other side of the border, in Albania, is Pogradec. We will visit the town center, walking through the open market. Then, we will drive to the city of Korcha that was once the Albanian center of the higher class. We will first stop to visit the old city architecture, then we will walk through the modern part, including the visit of the Central Orthodox Church. FromKorcha, we will drive over the mountain pass towards one of the most rural areas of Albania, where time has stood still. We will see perhaps the most undeveloped region in Europe, the rural area of Albania called Pustec, along the Lake Prespa. The most popular dish here is the Prespa carp, and we will probably have the chance for an optional lunch in a modest restaurant in a village along the Lake Prespa. We will walk through the village and mingle with the local (friendly) people, where the significance of “tourism” is still unknown. Another optional activity might be using fishermen boats, sailing about 20 minutes to the island of “Mal Grad”, explore the island and sail back to the village. Later, we will drive back to the Macedonian border-crossing of the Prespa region. We will drive back in Ohrid through the National Park Galichica and admire the breath-taking view of the both lakes, Ohrid and Prespa, from the altitude of 1.700 m. Finally, the driver/guide will drop you off at your hotel or any other location of your preference in Ohrid.
