After a few hours drive from Ohrid, we will arrive at the Kokino archaeological site, and walk about 10 minutes uphill to the megalithic observatory, which dates around 1800 years BC, and is the fourth oldest and most important in the World, according to NASA. Although, the observatory is 3800 years old, the oldest archaeological finds from the Kokino site date from about 19th century BC, corresponding to the early European Bronze Age. After that, we will hit the road again, for another 1 hour and 15 minutes (approximately 70 km) and visit the site called the stone town Kuklici, consisting over 120 naturally formed stone pillars, a mystical place with lots of legends and myths related to the formation of the stone dolls. The nature created real peace of art out of the rocks, and the locals, in the centuries, made them totems. We could have lunch in the nearby Ethno restaurant Park Ginovce. On our way back to Ohrid, we will stop in Kriva Palanka and visit one of the most beautiful monasteries, St. Joakim Osogovski, after which, we drive back to Ohrid, and drop you off in any location of your preference in Ohrid.
